"New" Bella Serra?

Hasn't anyone dined at the newly re-opened Bella Serra?

We only ate there once -- it was quite good but we just never had the opportunity to go back. But we're looking forward to going to the "new" one this weekend.

Yes, we have been there a couple of times since the remodeling/reopening.

Still pretty good food. Hope you enjoy your visit during the weekend.

I heard that most of the remodeling was on the exterior, that the interior was not changed much. Is that true?

In any event, it has always been a good restaurant. Just haven't been in for a while.

Took the family there Sunday for Mother's Day, and you're right; what changes were made were cosmetic on the outside of the building. They added a patio and that's about it. The inside dining rooms were pretty much old school. I was expecting to see murals of Venice or the Sistine Chapel on the walls, but everything was pretty much a titty pink with no expression of originality. Certainly nothing of an eye catching nature. Food was fair just like before. Again, nothing to warrant a special occasion dining experience. Service was attentive and courteous. Back up waitstaff were right on the money filling drinks and clearing dishes to make room for desert. If you're expecting grandeur and ambiance, you won't get it here. Again, if you liked the food at the old Bella Serra, then this is the place for you.

Sabrered, that's a very good review and tells me as much as a 2 page review in some fancy magazine.

I am surprised that they would not want to add ambiance inside, and wonder if they got the best bang for their buck by spending it all on the exterior.

Ate there about a week after the re-opening and am hoping the wait staff has their act together.

Our order was quickly taken by a waiter who had worked there before, thus is experienced. Food was brought by a "helper" type without the presence of our waiter. One of the two orders was wrong. Waiter never checked back with us and we were 3/4 done before I could catch his eye. Drinks were never refreshed. Ordered a dessert which took forever to arrive. And they were not that crowded.

As others have said, the food was about the same as in their prior life. OK, but not special.

Smile Same great food, expanded menu

We have eaten, lunch and dinner, several times at Bella Sera since their re-opening and find the food great and the menu nearly doubled in offerings. They did have some service issues the first couple of weeks but I don't think they were prepared to be slammed with so much business. Obviously the local folks were ready for their return and every time we were there there were no empty tables.

The interior didn't change much as far as the floor plan went but it certainly had a make over, the paint and plaster with the wood trim are very nice. The large back dining room can now be closed off in a more sound containing manner for private functions. The new patios are very nice and we have enjoyed sitting there on a couple of occasions. Our visit this week-end was perfect and all the service issues appear to be ironed out. Some news faces and many old.

We ate about one week after they re-opened. We both wanted chicken parmesan but the menu didn't state that it was accompanied with a side of spagetti. We asked our server it it came with sketti and she said emphatically "no." So we both ordered something else and just weren't very happy. Our teas were not refilled until at the end. We asked the gentleman at the cash register if spagetti was supposed to be served with chicken parmesan and he said "yes." Our salads were blah iceberg with one slice of tomato. The atmosphere inside was boring - didn't appear much had been done there and we were dissapointed. The exterior remodel was much a do about nothing much.

We were there twice last week, once at noon and once in the evening. Both times on the patio. That was a big bust. The noise from 281, trucks, motorcycles, horns ,fumes ,etc. was horrible.

They should have spent the money on the inside and trained a chef in the art of italian cooking... We won't go back.

Pretty good food, I think most of the renovations were outside except the back room was updated. Waite staff is fabulous...think they must have brought some family members in to help out!

Food is pretty good. Service is awful, Orders get mixed up, glasses don't get refilled and they sure don't like it when you ask that they correct the problem.

Food is the same. Floor plan is same on inside, but looks MUCH better. It's not depressing now. IT's nice. The large room in the back is nice, but needs more lights. Love the patio area, but need to spruce it up and look more inviting. Outside is awesome! All in all, it's MUCH nicer now.

Love the redecorating, but the food is still not as good as Francescos. And like others mentioned, service is lacking.
