Would they ever consider building a Dam on the Llano river?

We lived on the Llano for years, I was just wondering if building a dam is even possible in these times. Land acquisition costs would be thru the roof, not to mention environmental hurdles. Not saying I’m for or against the idea, just throwing it out there for discussion...

I think you are right Freedom, dead, dead, dead. You are an old timer and it used to be fun and lively.
When you put a stopper in the mouth of the Second Amendment folks don't seem to like it much. I really miss the good old days !

Well the 1st Amendment only applies to government regulation of speech, not speech on a message board run by a private person.

It is absolutely the up to the individual, but when the platform is fading away it just might be in ones best interest to make some changes...if you don’t, just look and see what has happened here.....zero participation.

We are absolutely not going to bring back the politics section. It has been demonstrated repeatedly that it leads to incivility and personal attacks. There's plenty of that on Facebook to go around. I, and the other moderators, do not have the time or desire to referee all of that.

How many moderators does it take to moderate a message board that is basically dead?

You could start your own and find out.

Believe it or not, I actually ran a couple of message boards about 17 years ago. One of which dealt with the New York Yankees baeball team.

The board dealt specifically with the team but also included a forum on politics & 'general discussion.'

We had 3 administrators who also did the duties of moderating.

We had about 60 members and if some member couldnt abide with the community standards - the answer was simple -- they were banned.

It was a busy board for 60 members. Much busier in comparison to the activity here.

But I grew weary of it. It's time had passed.
Just as well, FaceBook came along anyway.
