Where did Golden Chick go?

Went to eat at Golden Chick in Marble Falls, near the HEB. Sign on the door said Closed - We are moving to a new location. Where did they move to?

They are tearing it down, along with mustang lube which is moving across the street, Bealls which is moving to where the old nursing home was behind McDonalds so HEB can build a HEB plus. Don't know where golden chick is moving to, but maybe since it is a franchise they don't like to "close" stores and say they are moving to an already established location. Similar to when blockbuster closed, they weren't "closing" they said they were moving the location.

Well that explains all the survey markers in that area.

I hope this new H.E.B Plus will be as nice as the one in North SA, along 281.
It really is a super H.E.B. plus.

Yup, they are tearing it down, but apparently I was misinformed about HEB plus. Would be nice though.

What will be interesting to see is when they start building where the old nursing home was. Will the elevation be raised all the way to Northwood or will that low spot just be parking?. And if Bealls does stay in that area will they be easily seen behind MickeyDs assuming they build a new building.. I am surprised Bealls doesnt grab the space next to Specs.

Still don't know where Golden Chick went but the fried chicken in Kingsland @ the new Valero is pretty good and spicy ! Pretty close to Popeyes.

It's all been rumor after, but my understanding is the Golden Chick guy took the money and cashed in. Never intended to relocate.
Bernie opened second store in Kingsland, that's true and the developer went bankrupt overpaying those guys. (rumor) so all work stopped. so sad. now so ugly.
Not only that but the new chicken place in Kingsland that I thought was so good is now so bad ! yuk ! And That is no rumor !
Now, maybe the chicken at the new Buck's Travel Center in Granite Shoals will be good, when it opens, at least for a while anyway. Or maybe the Golden Chick Guy will build some where else. Or maybe the guy that owns all that property including the HEB property will finally sell it to someone with some sense and we will have a decent piece of development there or HEB and Bealls will finally get smart and negotiate somewhere else.In all probability the HEB plus will probably end up out near the 281/71 area. Just my pessimistic guess.

I passed by there a while ago and yep construction has stopped. Looks like the retaining wall behind Mickey Ds is half finished too.. It is interesting too that the city agreed to sell to the owner of all that a strip of land on the backside and give him another strip for free. It could very well be that the developer is going to take his time in finishing anything out or is revamping the plans for what he might be intending to do there. You know how it is with developments. They take time.

There is an item on the forclosure listings for burnet county of a property which fits the description of the property where HEB /bealls and the other tracks are located... It could be that development came to a halt because money stopped flowing in the right direction..

Which foreclosure listing are you referencing? April 1, May 6, June 3, or July 1?

I looked through all of the listings and saw nothing so I must have overlooked the one you saw. Please provide some specifics.

Thanks.

Butch. I re-Looked at the July listings. The property being foreclosed is just under 1mil but it also looks like it is for 1/3 interest. The reference points from the survey gave me a first indication that it was where or very near heb/bealls since it mentions properties adjacent to there. I did track down the track the property.. It is at 1514 hwy281.

Ah, now I have it located. The property, 1510-1514 Hwy 281, is the building complex where I had TSTAR Internet and TSTAR Computers on Hwy 281 just north of Tractor Supply on the west side. There is quite a bit of land between the listed foreclosure property and the land containing HEB, Bells, the Chicken Express, and Mustang Lube businesses.

There has been some recent work done. They finally removed the braces for the retaining wall behind mickey ds.. Also there is a notice for the P&Z that the owner is requesting a couple variances having to deal with ordinances that may need tweaking to fit his future plans..Once he jumps through all the BS hoops that biz owners have to jump through you just may see building going on.
