I see that the Lucky Buffet also closed down. The owner of the center is shopping the space already. Seems like a pretty good family dining spot because of the access, visibility and plenty of parking (for now).

On a related note, has anyone heard any recent news on extending hours in Marble Falls for alcohol sales? As much as I usually dislike compromises because they reak of "management by committee" - (which typically is long on appeasement and short of effectiveness) - I will throw this one out anyway. If we are currently at a 12:00 closing law and the proposed 2:00 am has so much resistance. Would not a 1:00 am closing law make sense? That would add one highly profitable hour to the entertainment district. It will go a long ways towards rejuvinating the night life in M Falls.

If this issue has been "tabled" by the council, it needs to be addressed again....and soon. Here we are in the fall season - beautiful weather, with a beautiful city - and we are still not tourist friendly, as that relates to evening entertainment. Not just tourism either....there is very little for residents to enjoy. Not much to do on weekend evenings. We need live music again.....heck, we need life! This is a wonderful opportunity......why are we neglecting it? Commerce and jobs equal tax revenue. What are we waiting on?

Your opinion?

If you look through the archives you will find out plenty on this subject. Many suggestions on what could be done.Extending the hours on certain nights was brought up. Fri&Sat should be till 2am and weds till 12or 1 IMO. As far as whats been happening with it lately. I have not heard anymore about the issue.More then likely it will be on the councils table again. I agree with you that we need a night life scene in MFs.Our leaders wanted massive growth, well along with that growth comes with having things for folks to do.Music venues are great.

I think those for it that are in buisness should pass around a petition to get it done..

Will be interesting to see how many people participate in the 1st Thursday night on Main St. That's starting this week -- shops are staying open and there are supposed to be vendor booths available. Locals have to get behind what's happening in their community, or those "things" stop happening. Seems like lately with the economy, it's a case of "if you come, they will build it"

I am certainly FOR the extended hours -- I know my friends and I will enjoy it; I just hope locals will get out of their lazy-boys and patronize these places. Sure makes a difference when you have guests that you actually know of places to go in the area for entertainment.
