To those that drop off your children in the morning at MFES, please use the same route that is used for pickup. That would be come down 7th to Ave U, then turn in at the school. Why must you come down Broadway and cut in front of the rest of us that use the proper route. More and more parents have started doing this, my pet peeve I guess.

It’s not just your Pet Peeve MFNATIVE. There are a whole bunch of us that feel the same way. Worse then cutting in off Broadway is the people that turn in off of 1431 onto Ave U, and make a left right into the line, cutting off 30+ cars that have followed the rules. They know what they are doing is wrong. This morning a black Ford Expedition and a silver Honda Civic cut in just a few cars in front of me. I, along with many other parents, have complained to the school officials and as you can tell nothing is being done. Any suggestions out there?

I can't quite understand why "the school officials" get blamed for everything. They have no control over public streets!
Depending on where you are coming from is the route you would take. What rules? Don't we have enough rules these days? be courteous, let a car or two in. They have as much right to approach the school from their route as you do from yours.
Don't miss a great opportunity to teach your kids about courtesy !

Do you have kids at MFES, Belle? Have you had to sit in the drop off line for 15 minutes just to watch someone break the "rule" and cut in right at the front of the line, making their wait just a few seconds compared to your 15 minutes? The school has sent home several letters and maps calling out the correct drop off and pick up procedures for a reason. It's the safest, fastest, and most fair way to get that many kids dropped off or picked up at one given time.
My problem isn’t as much with the school officials, as it is with people like you. The school officials have set the rules and procedures, they just do not have the man/woman power to stand out there at the curb and enforce it. It’s people like you that are the problem. If the rule would be followed no one would have to enforce it.
Unfortunately there are too many people in this world, like yourself, that feel entitled to do whatever they want and never think of the repercussions it has on those of us that follow the rules. You must be the type of person that could walk right up to a register in front 20 people and tell the cashier to ring up your groceries because you have decided you don’t need to wait in a line.
We have rules and procedures in life so we can know the right way from the wrong way. Not following a rule because you think "there's already enough rules these days" is flat out wrong. Who are you to pick what rules we follow and which ones you decide are OK to ignore? What example are you setting to our children by telling them they can ignore rules at their own will?
Courteous….really? Sure….cut in front of me at the school…..at the grocery store……at the car wash……at the movie ticket counter, where ever and when ever you want and I’ll just smile and say thank you. Does that sound courteous to you?
I never miss an opportunity to teach my kids a lesson. The lesson to be learned in this case is: There are rules in life and we will follow them, even when others decide they are not going to, we still will because that's what is right.

Yehaw, someone else has got a nerve that the cutters get on. I think it has to do with respect, if you have respect for others you would follow the rules or at least have some common sense about what you are doing.

I see this issue from both sides as I come from the west on 1431. I've seen the cutters coming straight in front of everyone, but what really annoys me are the ones in line that let them in. I take Industrial and go in through the four way stop at Broadway. There simply is no other option coming from the west.
As for the four way stop, that is a public road, and the school probably doesn't have the authority to route traffic. Having said that, we should follow the rules as established by the school to set a good example for our children. As parents, this is a small issue we could just decide to cooperate on for the sake of everyone.

I thank you for making the effort, but if you go down one more block to 7th street you can get in line from there. I understand that this is upsetting to most, but you are right lets cooperate for the sake of everyone.
