I had not realized that Texas Pecans and Gifts had closed down until I ran into one of the ex employees at HEB. I asked her for suggestions for a place to get my pecans and goodies and she said that they were supplied by Oliver Pecan in San Saba. I called them today, I guess I am making a trip to San Saba. At least its a pretty drive.

Welcome Smoothie, we're glad you joined us.
Yea, my wife hated to see them go. I understand that they have relocated in Fredricksburg. Time for a road trip somewhere.

Smoothie, you might want to go on Saturday, the 24th ,and drive through Cherokee.
They have a big "Super Saturday" arts and crafts fair from 9-4.
Tons of homemade goodies, pecans, jams, jellies ,everything and very reasonably priced.
I was there last year and bought at least 100,000 calories ! I bought my pecan pies for Thanksgiving.I think they are even better after being frozen. Did some Christmas shopping also.
I'll be there this year promoting our Veterans event and selling T-shirts with our logo this year.

I recently got a card from Texas Pecans & Gifts. They now have a web site which is:
www.texaspecansandgifts.com (http://www.texaspecansandgifts.com) and have also joined with Lydell's Store, 1607 E. Main St. in Fredericksburg. They have a toll free number, 800-897-3226 or you can call Tx. Pecans at 830-693-6612. Hope this info helps.

I decided to drive to San Saba on Friday, instead of Fredericksburg to avoid the traffic and crowds, we get enough of that here. Glad I did, the Oliver Pecan store is really nice. Bought some fresh pecan halves for 7.95 and could not get out of there without some chocolate and pralines. Nice store, really accomadating staff. I will have to go back before Thanksgiving for sure.
