Good luck. That is a withering industry. For the price of a new TV it is usually not worth the cost of repairing an old one. $400 buys a lot of TV these days with warranty, etc. DVD players are $29.00 now. Not sure about recorders, but I think I paid $79.00 for one last year.

The last i had heard tv shops charger around $130.00 just to look at a tv set. Then the labor started from that. Its better to replace now days with the throw away world we live in.

Sad but true! You might check with C&D. They use to do TV repair but don't anymore but they may know who does. There use to be a guy in Marble Falls named Ray Sawyer that did TV repairs but I'm not sure if he is even in business any longer. If you are willing to drive in to Austin, you might check with Bonds TV. I believe they still do TV repairs and are a very reputable company who has been in business for decades (512) 476-3551.

But honestly, unless it is expensive equipment and the problem is something very minor it is probably best to just throw it away and get a new one.

Use the Internet to locate an authorized repair/service center for your TV brand and then call. Then you can learn about the repair options and costs. Once you have that information, you can make an informed decision about repairing or replacing.

A $70.00 repair bill, beats the price of a new TV and two trips to Austin.
not a big cost, gas etc. but the aggravation of Austin traffic ugh.
