Tuesday evenings, at our own River City Grille in Marble Falls, starting at about 7:30 pm. What a wonderful venue and a great music series! Music wise, you can expect almost anything from Mike Blakely. He was been nominated for the Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year by the Texas Music Awards and if you get the chance to see him you will understand why. He ranges from soft love ballads to kicking cowboy honky-tonk songs, hitting blues, Cajun, and great Tex-Mex in between. You can hear samples on his website (http://www.mikeblakely.com/). I happen to just plain enjoy his music and voice. Mike is a very gracious performer -- not having to grandstand or hog the limelight.
Watch for john Arthur martinez to appear here on Thursdays. He has a new CD out (and you NEED this CD!!) and last Thursday was the release party in Marble Falls. We had dinner on the lower deck, just overlooking the lake. The food was great, service outstanding, and well.. the music was incredible. There is NO cover charge, no pressure to buy anything. We weren't herded like cattle - we were told our table was ours for the evening and to relax and enjoy. Mike Blakely was an honored guest, and really added a lot to the evening's performance.
I think it is great that we don't have to go all the way in to Austin or down to Luckenbach to enjoy a live music! Don't drive out there -- stay local and support local!
