Ate at the new Thai Restaurant located near 1431 and 281 next to the Texaco station on the corner. It was absolutely great! Service was excellent, food even better. The best egg rolls I've had. Prices are reasonable and they will have a lunch special Monday through Friday. They are accepting cash only right now. These are the same folks from the yellow gas station. Be sure to try the coconut ice cream with sticky rice. Yummmm!
Can't wait to go back.

Wife and I have been eating at the Yellow gas station for many years now. We had been awaiting the opening for some time. Ate there this week and were not disappointed. We like spice, and were not disappointed. No need to order extra spicy for the faint at stomach.

Good stuff.

Great food. Nice people.

Be sure you like it REALLY hot before you order a 3 star. They have dishes rated 1, 2, and 3 stars for hotness.

Ate there tonight. Great food. It was fresh and the right amount of spices. I did have sauce on the side to make it spicier.

We too have been eating at the Yellow gas station for years. But the Large Hot and sour is not that large kinda small. Plus it did not taste the same. Will go back next month to try again the service was great but getting the food out was disappointing one item at a time. Not so fire up anymore.

It is on 281. Heading north on 281, it is on the right just before 1431. Be paying attention or you will drive right by it. Hard to see.

Yeah if you go with a group, everyones food will not come out at the same time. Some were done before others got their food. It was good but they need more help or a bigger stove or something.

It takes a while to get the staff in sync.

I drove by it but didnt see a sign up yet. If i didnt know the location of it already I would have thought they were not there or that its an empty building.

Several years ago I opened a small cafe here..It takes a lot of work and a considerable investment...

I had no idea how such a small business would or could generate so many comments..
No negative comments about food but sooooo many about the hours (too few) and the signs...I was the only cook and I can't control sign ordinances...

I was so disheartened that I almost closed down before it had time to get up and running..

KINGCHIP.....your encouraging and gracious post to someone you did not know (and still don't) made all the diffference..

That little cafe is closed now but closed because I made the choice to open another type of business..

Thanks for your thoughtful input to all the small (and smallest) business's trying to get going and to those making the effort..It means more than you can imagine..

and I like the thai food and the folks who run it...I wish them all the best..

I guess Friday night is not when a big party (9) should visit a new restaurant. Couldn't get a table so we went elsewhere. Will try the new place during the week.

Husband and I tried this "new" Thai restaurant yesterday (Saturday) for lunch. Both our choices were very good. Someone on this forum had suggested that the dishes were very spicy so we opted for the one star version. I think next time we will both try 2 stars. Husband's lunch came out first but mine came about 3 - 4 minutes later so it wasn't a long wait. They should probably get a warming system if they don't already have one so that they can bring the food for everyone at the table at the same time.

The interior was much more modern and fresh than we expected and the wait staff was very nice. A gentleman who I assume was a manager or owner came by to ask if everything had been satisfactory.

We asked if the menu changed for dinner and were told that it was the same as the lunch menu on the weekends. Monday through Friday they have a lunch special that includes a choice of about 12 entrees, soup and an egg roll for $6.99. We will definitely go back.

Does anyone know if they are open for lunch on Sundays, or what the name or phone# is, so we can call to find out? thanks

Here is an interesting review of the place. It is called "Thai Niyom."

We went there tonight. Got there at about 6:20pm and didn't leave until 8pm. Granted, it's dinner on Friday night, but it took us an hour to get our food (that we ate in about 20 minutes). Food was good, not great... not worth the hassle. Will stick to Ginger and Spice on Main st. (their lunch specials combined with appetizer buffet is amazing)

May give it another shot during the week, but I think they only have one chef. Seems like they need to expand their staff if they want to accommodate the people.
