Are we still under the restriction that businesses are not supposed to use water for outside cleaning, irrigation, etc.? Why are some being allowed to water, and I have been threatened with a fine?

You will probably get a better answer from whomever threatened you with a fine, than you will get from this forum - assuming the threat came from a city person. Too many people on the forum will tell you what they think should be the answer.

I would call the city to ask them about the rules for using water.

The city website has link to the rules concerning any water restrictions that maybe in place..All you would need to know are in there. Including any Fines.. As far as someone threatening you with a fine. Did you get a name? And what authority if any did this person have?

They were city, and I don't mind compliance, but we should all be concerned about water usage or wastage, if that's a word.

Been to the city site.. but where does it say what stage we are in now?
I can't find anywhere it says what level we are actually at now so no clue what I am supposed to be following.

I tried to find it again. I found the link to what the LCRA is showing.(Central Texas drought info). They have us in a D4.. which looks like it would be the worst classifciation. That is unless they add D5 for dustbowl..
Most likely the city is using the LCRA classification but you should call them and make sure..

As far as I know we are still in Stage 1, the city has their own drought contingency plan.

All I know is that the watering times are not the best times for minimal evaporation/maximum absorption. Somebody needs to rethink this one. The best time is early morning at the coolest most still part of day. If we are going to make time constraints, lets do it based on logic or common sense.

Kingchip, I thought the allowed watering times were 4 am to 10 am and then a few hours in the evening. I have been watering early in the day according to my address. Is this not the case?
