I have searched this forum and have not seen a clear answer to the question:
"What companies provide high speed wireless Internet service in Granite Shoals?"
Can folks provide me with the names of their providers? All I want is high speed Internet, entering my home through either the cable or phone lines. Nothing wireless to the house.
I know that Northland provides, but their costs are too high if not bundled with TV or phone service (I don't want a double or triple play). Thanks in advance.

With the limitation of no wireless services and elimination of Northland as being too expensive, you only have one choice: Verizon - provided they offer DSL in GS.

After many many years with Tstar dial up, waiting for something that did not require me to put up a tower on top of my house, Verizon arrived with high speed internet through my phone lines, and wifi throughout my whole house. I LOVE it!!! No disrespect to Tstar because they provided great service thru the years at a very nominal cost.

Butch, what are the wireless options today?
The Internet services that I am familiar with in the Burnet and Llano county areas are:
Speednet/ERF Wireless/TSTAR/Moment - wireless
281.Com - wireless - locally owned business
Zeecon - wireless - locally owned business
Pegasus - wireless
Texas Broadband - wireless
Northland - cable
Time Warner - cable
Verizon - DSL
Wild Blue and Hughes Net - satellite service
Not all the services listed above are available in all areas.
There was a recent article in a local papers about a new wireless Internet service soon to be available on the new water tower in HSB West. However, I can not remember additional information.

I for one would like to say that Wild Blue is expensive and rarely works at high speed.
They put a satellite on the house and charge $59.00 a month. I get "no internet connection available" messages very often. For instance today, I received the message twice already. Yesterday it happened about three times. We were out of town for a whole week. I thought we'd get back and have a few days of good service. No way!
I called customer service. They informed me that the satellite seems to be out of alignment.
They will come fix it for $99.00,service charge.
They require a 2 yr. contract because if you didn't sign a contract you wouldn't keep them.
I am seriously considering just signing up with another service all together.
Even if we still have a few more months with Wildblue.com ISP.
Live and learn.
Stay way from WildBlue.com.
