If Devoe gets convicted of Capital Murder for the two Jonestown murders he is being tried for will it mean that he will not stand trail in the Allred murder?
Was just wondering how that works...

Its to my understanding he killed 4 people in Jonestown. If hes only being tried for 2 of them then something is seriously wrong with that picture. Now it could be they had to spread the cases out since the killings were in different countys/or states. Could be a matter of venue.
No matter what the case is its the Tax payers who will have to cover the costs of Housing him for however long the court deems appropriate even if its the Death penalty. I will bet you that you will see during this trial that there will be some out there who will say they feel Soooorry for Him.

I'm betting that they try them seperately like that in the event there is a mistrail of something like that. It's pretty much an open/shut case, but things sometimes happen. Guess they wouldn't want me on the jury.

I'm betting Kingchip is right on the money, if they don't get the desired result with this trial they still have at least one more shot in Travis Co. and then one in Burnet Co.

I really don't know if the DA's office plans to try Devoe here, I could understand either way.

I think the reason they are doing just the 2 girls is the Capital Murder. (If I remember right Capital Murder dealing with crimes against the Elderly, Police, Fire, Children, Etc.) Maybe because of the age of the others it makes a different case. Either way the tax payers will have to pay to keep him alive for several more years as mandentory appeals, etc. continue.

Nah, it has nothing to do with their ages - they would have to be under 6 years old for it to be capital murder based on age. They filed it as capital murder because he killed more than one person in the same criminal transaction. You are certainly right about the appeals process, although he can waive his appeals if he chooses to do so.

Thank you sweet Jesus for that verdict today! What in the world makes a person snap like that and become such a horrible monster?
I just cannot imagine sending a daughter/son over to a friends for a fun filled family weekend and her/him being murdered just a few hours later!
He's creepy...the look in his eyes say that there is just NOTHING there. Not a shred of remorse...just "poor me". UGH, makes me sick!

I'm glad he was convicted in Travis County. That way Oatman won't get a chance to blow this one like he did the Marble Falls home invasion trial. The Travis County DA is a TOP NOTCH bunch of prosecutors. If only. . . . .
