The new additional classrooms are WONDERFUL!!! We were busting at the seams out here.
We are still experiencing growing pains with our parking lot being far to small tho! It is becoming quite a safety issue with trying to coordinate bus and car rider pick up. Is there any relief in sight in the near future?
Thanks!

I have LOVED this school since the first day our son started out here! The staff has always been just wonderful, friendly, positive and supportive. They have pointed out the negative but always pointed out the positives as well. Have always made parents feel most welcomed...
This year for the first time the attitude seems to be VERY different. The friendliness and positiveness seems not near as strong. Seems to be A LOT of tension that hasn't been there. Yes, I have asked and answers are VERY evasive if there are any at all.
I pray this is temporary for all concerned but most of all for the kids!
Love and Peace for a VERY Happy Holiday Season,

It is very hard for me to imagine that anything is amiss at HLES. Under the leadership of Mr. Powell, they are so very involved in the GS community, in all functions. I have attended events at the school and the school always attends/participates in, the events held in GS.
They are so involved with their adopted military unit from Fort Hood, the Veterans Event, Christmas Outreach and I could go on and on.
These children are learning principles and values that go far beyond basic academics and they are to be applauded for it...
I find the Teachers, Staff and certainly the Principal, Mr. Powell, to be outstanding role models to their students and to the community.
Please, support them not denigrate them!

I do not believe that quote is degrading in the least! There are a lot of parents that are seeing the same things and are concerned. Being degrading and being CONCERNED are two different things!

You have my apologies Tonigking! I had no idea you worked for the school and have knowledge of what's the norm and what is not! This is a prime example of the attitude I was referring too...

For the record, I do not work for the school. I am an interested citizen that pays school taxes.

We too pay school taxes Tonigking! We also have a child that attends that school and are up there on a daily basis! It is a wonderful school and that is why we as parents get concerned when there is obvious strain and tension going on.
Some never cease to amaze me...
