Does anyone know why GCYSA did not file their taxes for 3 years and lost their tax exemption?

Have not had one play for GCYSA in a few years. That's a shame though! Sounds like things went down hill after D.B. stepped down.

#1 Having connections with several non-profits (501-c3) it is extremely easy for this to happen. The state nor feds send you anything in the way of reminders, forms, etc. You have to literally mark your calendar from year to year to remember to send in the form, that usually says, we got this much, we spent this much and we don't owe anything.
#2 It was not an error of not paying, it was not filing.
#3 The orginazation could only go up after DB left.

I have learned from the IRS that GCYSA was notified in June 2010 that if they didn't file their back tax returns for the last 3 years by December 2010 they would lose their tax exempt status. If they haven't filed their taxes, I wonder if GCYSA has even audited their books...

The President of GCYSA Board has asked that I attend a meeting on Tuesday, March 1, at 7 pm. It will be held at the Marble Falls Chamber of Commerce Building. As he stated, "It will be your only opportunity to address the GCYSA Board concerning this important matter..." If anyone would like to attend to discuss why the board has lost their tax exempt status and why they are refusing an audit, please come. As stated in his email, "If you want a FULL audit, as you demanded, we will be more than happy to supply any records or receipts to a CPA or lawyer, that specializes in this field and meets board approval. But this will be at YOUR expense. Such a demand is not the right of a past member, present member or board member."

May I request that those of you who start threads regarding Granite Shoals put in the initial subject that it's about Granite Shoals so those of us who don't really care about Granite Shoals will know what it's about. I'm not trying to be mean, I just don't live there, and what goes on there doesn't really concern me. Thanks.

The Soccer League that is being discussed on here is in Marble Falls and not Granite Shoals.
