This morning I attended a Constitution Day ceremony at Highland Lakes Elementary School and came away feeling uplifted and gratified by what I saw and heard.
There is nothing like the voices of children spiritedly reciting the Preamble, the Pledge of Allegiance and quite loudly, without timidity, sing the National Anthem.

I wish to express my sincere appreciation to Mr.Powell, the Faculty and the precious girls and boys, who uplifted my spirits and gave me renewed hope that our Constitution will prevail as long as "We the People..." work to respect and protect it.
God Bless America, God Bless the Children...:)

Sad to say, but I saw on the news the other morning that somewhere in our great country they are trying to do away with the pledge in our schools! And what is truly sad is we will probably just sit back and let it happen! :(

"... In the beginning of a change, the Patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a Patriot..." Mark Twain

I like that quote but heres one if I can remember it correctly

I concede that trying to Tax a nation into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket trying to pull himself up by the handle. Winston Churchill

I recently received an email that has a video clip of Red Skelton reciting and explaining the Pledge of Allegiance to children. It was from his television show in 1969 and I thought it was excellent and would make a great teaching tool in our schools. This is the link for it and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!video.yahoo.com/watch/142856/1202344
