In case you missed it, here is Perry's letter to Obama, hand delivered to Obama. Good for Perry on this one.

Meanwhile, the Austin's lefty Mayor told Obama how much he loved him.

Surely you don't believe Obama even opened the envelope! I suspect it went straight into the shredder, along with the Constitution. Now, Obama wants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to forgive the mortgages of the idiots that went for the sub-prime lending fiasco, that made so many of his cronies rich.

Obama probably has a border czar in charge of protecting the border who is also head of one of the drug cartels. You can easily see why he would visit Austin. One liberal island surrounded by thinking people. Likely influenced by the Austin UnAmerican Statesman, which makes the New York Times look like a conservative propaganda publication.

First Perry says for the feds to stay out of our "bidness" and Texas is gonna secede from this nasty union 'cause we don't need ya - then writes a letter begging for help with the border? What a joke!!! Typical - pick and choose. It doesn't work that way, boys and girls. It's like anything else, you take the good with the bad, you know, for better or worse, for richer for poorer, etc., etc., etc.

Perry is ridiculous...just who does he think he is kidding...this is only lip service in the wake of an election...just like his last election..he was all for the border fence before he was elected..then 2 weeks after he was elected he pulled his support for the fence....he is just another politician trying to get elected..don't get me wrong..the other candidate..a socialist....oops, I mean demoncat is certainly not the answer...debra median was the answer...oh well here we go again.

Thats oh so true. But there is another alot like Medina. That would be the Libertarian Candidate. Kathy Glass. If i,m correct Ms medina maybe throwing her support behind Ms.Glass. The force maybe strong with this one too.

You take the good with the Bad, for better or worse, for richer or poorer. Well since you are using marriage as an analogy. Hows this one. Texas is and has been an abused spouse for quite sometime now. A smart spouse would file for divorce or at least get a restraining order until that spouse can get the divorce. After all ,Who in their Right mind would want to stay in an abusive relationship.

Tarheel...Perry DID NOT hand deliver his letter to President Obama. The President turned away from Perry, who then handed it to one of the people traveling w/the President. At least, that's what the TV footage showed...but of course it wasn't Fox footage.

Curious...Doesn't that sub prime real estate lending fiasco actually date back a number of years, when Dubya came into office? And, weren't those his fatcat friends who benefitted? Obama wasn't even on the nation's radar when this started.

Grumpy...Thank God for that island of sanity that's known as Austin. Hopefully, it will become even saner when Big Hair Perry gets booted!

The substance of the letter, requesting that the Federal Government DO ITS JOB on border security, is right on. The letter was, in fact, hand delivered, as opposed to being mailed.

Of course, Obama would turn away from Perry, just as he has turned away from the State of Texas. Of course, he would go to the People's Republic of Austin, to lay down with his fellow socialists. No surprises here. Just like it was no surprise that he wouldn't go to the Boy Scout Jamboree.

Tarheel...how does $600 million in border security funding ssound to you? That's the security bill the President signed yesterday (of course, I'm sure you're going to claim that most of the $$$ will go to those states bordering Canada).

And no, Perry did not hand deliver his letter to Obama. Check the video footage.

I agree that O never touched the letter. He acknowledged it's existance by directing Perry to hand it to a grunt standing next to them.

Part of that money is to finance drone aircraft. What good will that do? If ICE doesn't pick up the illegals now, what good does it do to see more of the illegal crossings. A total waste of time and money.

On the other hand, say $300 million goes to the drones, that will be creating maybe 10 jobs in the valley where it will be stationed. Sounds like more of the same.

We all agree that Obama wouldn't touch the letter. As I said, it was hand delivered as opposed to being mailed, which it absolutely was.

Chip, absolutely, this is nothing more than pure-D politics. It ain't gonna do hardly a thing to help, other than to give some Democrats cover in upcoming elections. The Democrats don't want the border secured. Hundreds of thousands of anchor babies in Texas, creating more and more Democrat voters to secure their socialistic agenda.

Build the wall. Enforce our laws. After that is done, we can talk about a compassionate way to handle the illegals who are already here.

I find it interesting that when Obama first took office, his way of handling those who posed the biggest threat to National Security was to produce and send them video encouraging them to be more friendly. But, now when one of our Nation's governors tries to hand him a letter asking that our borders be secured, he refuses to touch it.

Even more interesting is the fact that Obama supporters think this is a big offense on Perry's part, when it's truly a display of Obama's disrespect for our State.

I agree with you, Tarheel. Build the wall, enforce out laws, and stop the illegal flow of immigrants from all sides. We should never encourage people to commit illegal acts, and that is exactly what we do when we refuse to enforce our laws.
