Is anybody watching the world cup? If so what do you think of the coverage?

Trying to watch the U.S. but after yesterday's rotten call and no word, that I have heard, about the call who cares.:(

The US so blatantly got robbed of the win that the whole thing becomes untrustworthy.

And further more I can't stand those blasted horns. (don't even think about it):D

I had the good fortune to be doing business in Mexico during the '86 Copa Mundial. Nearly every client had box seats at the local soccer stadium and I got to see several matches.

IMO, Mexican TV knows much better how to show futbol than ESPN. American cameramen/producers just don't have a clue.

If you think the horns are annoying, you should experience the Brasilian Drum Corps up close and personal. They are liable to show up anywhere in town, the fellow Brazilians come out of the woodwork, and an instant party fires up. It's incredible.

I have been watching the World Cup and it's a shame that ESPN is the only network televising it in English (except for the weekends when NBC needs to fill their lineup and shows one match). Most tickets purchased for the World Cup came from the US so it's sad to see very little coverage.
I was also in Mexico during the '86 tournament and it was simply amazing!!! I wish we had that same following here in U.S.
I do agree that U.S. Got robbed that last goal....but it's not the first nor the last bad call that will be made, just like any other sport. I think Argentina has a good team..... However, I am cheering for Mexico and U.S!!!!! Waka Waka!!!!!

Has it already started? I would rather watch the grass grow.

Part of the slow pace of the game can be attributed to American TV. On Mx TV, they don't zoom in on the ball so much, allowing the viewer to see a play coming together.

But then again, as a South Texas rancher, I have no problem with watching the grass grow. It doesn't happen often.
