Why was there a tree in the air at Diamond Shamrock/Falls Garage. This morning a lot of people were there and they were taking parts of the tree that was in the air. Someone had to know about it because there wouldnt be so many people there. I was going to ask but never did.

There were 50-75 people there on Main Street across the creek from the Falls Garage building. They were dressed "unusually" to put it kindly. The cars were parked for a couple of blocks in each direction on Main and Broadway. Someone at the police dept should know, when I went by the first time there was one patrol car on the north end of Main and later there were two. The clerk at the Round Up asked two ladies that appeared to be with the group what was going on and they refused to tell her anything.

To those of you out there wondering what was going on with the tree...here is the answer. It was a ceremony done by a local indian group. They have been looking for a perfect tree for the ceremony that they have every year. These people are very friendly and had no problems answering our questions. They came right in and told me all about the history of the tree and the ceremony. It will be placed somewhere in Burnet County and they will have a ceremony to give thanks to the great spirits for all that they have been given in the past year. Please dont judge unless you have all the facts about whatg is going on.
How many of you out there actually stopped to see what was happening and really asked the right questions? Im guessing not very many.....
Hope this helps.

I don't think anyone was judging just curious. Sounds like it will be a very interesting ceremony. We have so many different cultures in our area that have different beliefs then ours and I think that just makes people curious not judgmental.
Thanks for posting the info. Just an fyi on the icon it means curious as to what is to come.

Help me out here. Are you sayin they dug up the tree, lifted it with a boom and took it someplace unknown?

What made the tree special> who gave them the go ahead to dig it up?
