Just seen the new lanes at 1431 and Phillips Ranch Road. Who came up with the idea of putting the right turn lane on to 1431 and the shoot across the highway lane together? There is more traffic turning right then there is turning left. I can see it now traiffic is going to get backed up bad in the morning. BE READY DRIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny you post this because as I was coming from the school this afternoon I was thinking, "YES we have a turning lane, a seperate lane to go down PRR and a protected turn signal now"!
Now this morning was a whole different ball game. I was not a happy camper with the time they chose to make it one lane only! Lots of kids were late to school...

The Texas Department of Transportation installed the new signals and lane configurations. While the lanes are on Phillips Ranch Road, they are in the state's right-of-way and thus fall under TexDOT's jurisdiction. Earlier today, I contacted TexDOT about the concerns, and am awaiting a reply.

I'm curious. Did TXDOT talk to anyone locally before they did this? Was there any local input of any kind or did they just swoop in and make these changes, without consideration for local impact?

That's really good to know Mayor! I just came down PRR this morning for the first time since the changes and TallTexan is right on the money! It is an accident waiting to happen never mind the backed up traffic. Anyone unfamiliar with the road (such as me) will be very confused. Why did they not extend the same set up that they did on the opposite side of the road coming from the school? Makes no sense to me but I am just mere one person!
Hope it gets solved before someone gets hurt. I noticed they have pedestrain crossing lights now but I cringe to think of anyone trying to cross with the way it is set up right now!
