I was wondering what the deal was with the dairy queen playground, for a while now, there is a hole big enough for a small child to fall through. Then on top of that, my child stepped on a nail outside in the playground area as well. You would think either fix the problem or lock the door so kids can't play. I also noticed online, so it's at least a month has gone by with nothing fixed?

The food may be better than Kingsland but the place is filthy and slow and the playground is dangerous

Chip Hubbard is the owner of the local franchise and a contributor to the forum. Why not direct your concerns directly to him rather than cut and slash in this venue. If there's a problem, he needs to know about it in order that it may be corrected.

If you are so concerned, why are you letting your kid play out there in the first place?

And here's a suggestion, take it up with the manager. You just go up to the counter, ask for the manager and let them know of your concerns.

Yea, the playground is in bad shape right now. the company that installed it no longer exists. the parts are also difficult to find. the last pad covers I found, were inferior and not worth the time to use again. The hole you speak of, is only part of the padding. your child will NOT fall through anything.

I've tried to close it several times, and customers help themselves and reopen the locked doors.

As for nails, I'm very sorry that there was a nail out there. There are ZERO nails used in the construction of the playground.Someone must have brought it in and left or dropped it.

I don't spend all my time looking, but am searching for material to repair it before summer starts. I know how kids like to play on it. I've considered just having it removed, but nobody in town seems to want that, so I try to find parts.

Again, so sorry for the nail, and lack of material to get it up to par, but I really am trying.

uhh, jksr realized the hole and had kids leave, and let's see, why would I let my kids play in a playground at a fast food place, hmmm, crazy me. I didn't think I'd have to go inspect everything first., in a childrens playground. I also looked up the number there but then saw the comment from someone over a month ago and thought hmmm,,, this must have been like this for a while now. Not trying to slash and burn, just trying to have it corrected is all. Did I make anything up? No problem for the nail chip, child had his tetnus shot last year.

Not trying to slash and burn, just trying to have it corrected is all.

If all you want to do is have it corrected, you could have done so sooner simply by walking up to the counter and talking to the manager.

JSKR, here is kingchips comment on here about another restaurant,
"I want quality. The price may be steep, but I typically go out for a fantastic steak, and expect that. If I can do better at home, I won't be back. That goes for any steak. Wildhorse had a mean Yellowfin Tuna steak to die for, in the beginning. After a poor cut on my last trip, I went back to my BBQ pit to do it myself. "

But my friends call me Chip...

so, JSKR, he can talk about it on here instead of going to management, is that so? By the way my wife said our 20 month old could have fallen through the hole easily. How long has it been like that, someone posted on the internet about it over a month ago. Again, it's a CHILDRENS playground!!!!! How do you lock a door that a customer can unlock? Not really locked then is it?

Oh good grief, Bobby...is that all you got? A response to a question asked by somebody else on a thread that Chip didn't start? You even had to take the post out of context to make it sound bad.

Nose for News posted the following: "Over the past years we have seen restaurants (eating places) come and go. In fact, I think one thread on the old site must have had several hundred posts on it...
Russo's, Houston Depot, Super Taco, Peete Mesquite, Atwoods seem to be the ones that I find most of the 'locals' frequenting on a regular basis. Chili's, River City Grille, Blue Bonnet seem to be the tourist favorites...Now some of those that didn't make it were really high priced and some were moderately priced and I was wondering what it is that makes some places work and others not so much? What do you look for when you go out to eat?"

That particular thread was started in September 2009 -several years after Wildhorse closed. Duh...could that be the reason Chip didn't complain to the owner? Do ya think the owner could have fixed the problem in September 2009?

Once again, Bobby, your credibility goes up in smoke!

Now, here is my concern: Why on God's green Earth would anybody allow a 20-month-old child to play on a public playground unattended and without inspecting the area for dangerous situations?

On the locking of doors, I'm a public facility. Can't do it. I can lock people out, but not in. That is an egress route that must be capable of opening. I have to trust that parents will leave the door locked when I have it locked. A deadbolt is against fire code.

imam, my wife didn't let her play, our son was out their first, who's 10, then she went out with the 20 month old and noticed it. Of course our 20 month old wasn't unattended, where did it ever say that? Why did I get a watch it from the admin again? This site is so ridiculous, everyone else can say whatever they want, I wasn't talking about his food, just his playground. You people are so touchy. This is my last post, Have a great life people. And webmaster you might learn to be a little more tolerant since it is a blog, or at least fair about your infractions. And peaches, you genius you, where did it say unatteneded child? Duh, Get a life. Good riddence website, bunch of babies who can't take criticism but sure love to dish it out. Thanks for your response Chip, hope it's fixed soon. Webmaster, remove my account, thanks.
