So much for Southern hospitality in this town. So much for welcoming out of town guests. So much for promoting your business in an already struggling economy here.
Apparently,
the manager at Wisteria felt it necessary to threaten the police, for artists who were painting while standing on the "public" sidewalk in front of her store..
don't be surprised if you lose a few (or all)
of your customers.

The (manager?) from Wisteria, apparently threw a fit over the artists that are in town for the "Paint the Town" event.. because some of them were using the PUBLIC sidewalk in front of Wisteria, to set up/paint..
So she supposedly came out very upset, yelling at them, telling them to move, and informing them she had called the police ..

Well sounds like she has all the business she needs or wants, eh? Don't think she will be getting any high recommendations from them (the artists) from the sounds of it!

The words "apparently" and "supposedly" indicate that you are not a witness to the incident but are reporting what some one told you.
Remember there are at least three sides to every story: his side, her side, and the truth. Many times there are great differences between them and like the old parlor game where a message is whispered around the circle, the message changes as it is repeated.

Butch, amen.
Obviously, we're not sure what happened, but my experience has been that the artists are welcomed by most (if not all) establishments. Paint the Town generates interest and foot traffic, so it is win-win.

I'm guessing you know the woman who lost it?
I say that because yes, it's not first person.
There were NUMEROUS people who did see it.
And, unless you were there and can offer a better description of her outburst to make it seem any less of very poor judgement?
You can help this woman seem like a bit less of a fool.

Is awesome, it's a neat experience, it does generate traffic, and it's getting people back down to Main Street which is awesome.
That's what made it a bit embarassing for a moment, for many, to have one of our locals act like such a nut toward visitors.
But, I don't think one bad seed is going to ruin the impression of the whole town and in the end I think she'll just end up being laughed over.
