Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that you may now upload photos onto TheHighlandLakes.com to share with everyone. Please add your favorite bluebonnet pictures. We'd love to see them. Just go up and click the album button in the menu bar.

OK, I looked but I don't see an "upload" tab. Could you please direct me as to how to upload pics? Thank you.

Click on Albums in the menu bar.
Then click on either "create new album" which is near the top right or "add album" which is in the bottom left corner.
You will have to add your own album first before you can upload your pictures.

By the way, it is possible to put a picture here too.
You have to do a reply, not a quick reply. If your pic has a url, click on the insert icon image above the text box. Or, scroll down to the attachments link below in the additional options category.

How about telling us where the good bluebonnets and other flowers are so we can take visitors to see them?

I was just out 2831 (Blue Lake Drive, off 71, just past 2147). It was amazing.

On 1431 between Kingsland and Fuzzy's Corner, there is a solid field of Indian Paint Brush flowers. It is beautiful.

Every road on Thanksgiving Mt. in Horseshoe Bay is lined on both sides with thick patches of blue. Try taking all the remote back roads on the hill (if you can withought getting lost) for a beautiful drive.
Also, the bluebonnets in the fields on Mausoleum Dr. on Thanksgiving Mt. have popped up in the fields on both sides of that dirt road. Park your car and have a nice walk up and back down the road and enjoy the view and fragrant smells from the wildflowers in bloom (you can even see Lake LBJ down the hill in the distance).

Also the wildflowers are beautiful along Hwy 71 to Llano and 16 from Llano toward Fredericksburg.

If you take Hwy 16 back to Llano from Fredericksburg, be sure to look at the mountain off in the distance on the right as you come down Bell Mountain. Bluebonnets completely cover the rocky side of one huge area there.
