Has anyone been on the Willow City Loop to look at the bluebonnets? We plan on take a group to look at bluebonnets and were wondering if anyone has been thru the loop recently.
Any other place to show our visitors from Idaho the bluebonnets?

I haven't looked this year, but the old Masons Lodge on 281 just north of Lowes usually makes a nice photo.
Also, take 16 south out of Llano to Fredricksburg for a nice wildflower display.

One of the best places I've seen is on 1431 between Kingsland and Hwy 29. Usually on the side between the road and railroad tracks. Be careful, though. Traffic and snakes. Have the eagles returned this year, yet?

The eagles are only here from mid-November to mid-March, approximately. I understand they do not return to the nest they used for so long because of the prior vandalism, but I have not personally seen them. I understand the eagles moved their nest further back from the highway and are much harder to see. Again, I say I haven't personally looked. I'm VERY disappointed that anyone could vandalize that nest they used for so many years, and they should be punished. There is karma, you know. But I digress.........yes, the bluebonnets are beautiful this year - more than they have been in the last few years. Kingsland usually claims the most.

It is late in the "eagle" season and it will not be long before they leave. The eagles usually arrive in October and leave in April.
