Am I misunderstanding, or has the City of Marble Falls purchased the clubhouse ? If so, am I correct in assuming that we the local eateries and taxpayers are competing with one of our taxing entities in the food business? Somehow I have a problem with that scenario.

I may be mistaken, but I think they lease the restaurant out, don't they?

:(The restaurant was plagued by the 3 sins of business. Poor management, insufficient wait staff, and no business. Historically this restaurant venture has struggled due to non support by the residents. The food was good, but it deteriorated over time due to the fact that with little business, the food costs went sky high and much of the buffets wound up in the trash. It's a tough business when everything is going right, when it's not, the doors close.

So it is leased out, I guess? In their defense, up until about 4 months I had been plagued with a shortage of staff, as had most places in town. I went about 4-5 years unable to fully staff. The bright side to our economic mess is that the applications started flowing.
Thanks for the info, and welcome. Stick around and throw us some input.

The Hidden Falls Golf Club is owned by the City of Meadowlakes. It is being leased to a new entity established by the City - a Public Facility Corporation. It will be under the management of Jeff Wilson, a PGA golf pro who previously ran Waco's city golf course. The City of Marble Falls has nothing to do with HFGC.

I am a member of the HFGC and I am very sad to see the changes in the staff. I hope the new GM will be good, but from what I have seen thus far.... I'm not impressed. They laid everyone off and have brought in new people. I realize that in some cases that is good but they let the very best person go..... the one who kept the course going when it was falling apart. He arrived at 4:45 each morning, mowed, cleaned the pool, managed the pro shop, cleaned carts, picked the range, did the ordering, gave the lessons, cleaned the bathrooms, and most of all loved the people! Just a shame that his presence was not noticed and appreciated by the city! Good Luck ..... we will miss you! aka, Sab! :)
