Have any of you tried the Burnet Feed Store BBQ? I just noticed it recently as I passed through Burnet but I have not tried it. It looks like a Coopers or Opies.

From reports I've heard, it's good but expensive.

I think the food is outstanding and they give really good portions. It's not any more expensive than, say, Peete's in Marble Falls and is way better priced that Cooper's or Opie's.

We just recently ate there for the first time. We got the lunch plate specials & they were 5.99 and portions were very generous. We took friends back for dinner the next day and they sell the meat by the pound and then side dishes - so 8 of us ate to our fill for $70.00 (with drinks) and had leftovers to bring home. I think that's reasonable. Most of all, it was all very delicious, service was great, it's so nice to have a business like that in the area.

We reviewed this this restaurant a couple of months ago on a different thread. It is by far and away our favorite BBQ place in the area. Lunch specials are $5.50 and $6.50 for 1 or 2 meats respectively. That included beans (jalepeno or mild) and two sides. We think that is very reasonable especially when everything is soooo good. We love the sauces (spicy or mild) which are much better than the thin vinegary stuff they serve at Cooper's and Opie's. They offer a choice of wet or dry when ordering the slilced beef brisket. We have also tried their turkey breast (very moist), chicken, ribs and sausage. I may be off a bit on a couple of things but that is the best I can remember without a menu in front of me. :-)

Food is great and I love the buns. However 6.99 for a sliced beef sandwich is a bit much. The drive through beer and BBQ place down the road across from Phillips 66 is great too and prices are much better.

I finally tried the place yesterday. I loved the taste of the sausage, the "moist" brisket was too fatty but had a good taste. The sides were not that good, however. Pete's has much better sides.
