There are several movies that I seem to watch every time I stumble upon them on television. They are:
Shawshank Redemption
Goodfellas
Office Space
To Kill a Mockinbird
I'm not saying they're the best movies ever made, but I just never seem to mind sitting through them over and over.
Does anybody else do this? :popcorn:What are your favorites?

I would go with "A Fish Called Wanda", "My Cousin Vinny" and the standard by which all comedies are measured, "Animal House." When I watch a movie, I want to be entertained. I'm very shallow, that's why I'm a fan of slapstick.

Have to say "Uncle Buck" is one of my all time favorites. Of course, "Dumb and Dumber" too. Can't beat that one. I went and saw "Edge of Darkness" the other night and talk about good!. It reminded me of "Taken", which I loved! I also saw "When in Rome", great movie too. Love story guys! Just telling you in advance.

"Ferris Bueller's Day Off," "Something To Talk About," "Moonstruck." Recently watched "Catch Me If You Can" - it was really entertaining - especially to find out it was based (with a bit of artistic license) on a real person.

For me, the operative word here is "Netflix." I couldn't even begin to list my favorites - other than "Gone With the Wind" - because there's not enough room. I love Netflix - I can change my list. I love movies!!

I'll really be dating myself with some of these, but I love them. Heaven Knows Mr. Allison, Breakfast At Tiffany's, An Affair To Remember, Trading Places and yes of course Lonesome Dove. Also a great movie I love with Tom Berrenger. It's called Last of the Dogmen. Anyone else know that one? It's a good one.:secret:

My favorite is Lonesome Dove and anything that has Robert Duvall.
I remember the night when the Lonesome Dove episode included Gus's death. My youngest daughter laid on the couch and cried. The next morning she felt so bad that she could/would not go to school. My wife had to write a note to the teacher requesting an excused absence because "Kristin's uncle Gus had died".
This story is now part of our family folk lore.

Yeah, Lonesome Dove is probably my favorite western of all time. Along with The Magnificent Seven. More recently I really liked Open Range (another Robert Duvall movie).
Other favorite movies include:
Signs (it's not just about aliens - it's about one man rediscovering his faith in God)
Lord of the Rings
Star Trek II (KHAAAAAAAANN!)
Tombstone
Wild Hogs

Butch, I am so much on your page.
I too cried many times in Lonesome Dove, have watched it several times (love to binge on it and watch all episodes on a bad weather day ) and cry everytime I watch it. Ha
It is soooo Texas !
I also adore Robert Duval and would give my kingdom to dance the Tango with him!
And what about Ole Yellow ? written by Fred Gipson from Brady.
I really liked the movie Hunt For Red October.
I also enjoy most movies that Cuba Gooding Jr. is in.
