New Talk Radio Station

I was scanning the radio airways today and ran across 98.9 'the big talker', seems to have local (Austin area) talk programs. Sammy Allred (old Sam and Bob show) was on, haven't listened to the whole lineup yet, and nothing agains rush and sean and glenn, but it'd be nice to have different voices especially ones talking about Central Texas.

The FCC Data base shows the 98.9 station as in Leander. Belonging to the LBJS group and Spanish. Called La Lay 98.9. Wonder if the conditions were right for skip from another station or if they are changing their format from Spanish to something else.

They've leased it out, so it's now local, the call letters have changed, it's like what they did with 104.9 they leased it to Simmons and it's now ESPN. You can't have 10 spanish stations in a market the size of austin and expect them to make money.....

I listened to it today on your recommendation. Beck was okay with Palin as a guest.

I had to turn it off about 5 minutes into Sam Allred though. Gloom and doom Sammy. I've had enough of him for one lifetime.

Sammy really does need to retire and hang em up. He's the most consistently negative person on the air today..I was surprised to see that they gave him an hour long show, he needs to have a 5 minute commentary played once a day and then go home....
I'm not sure where that morning show comes from, it's really sounds monotone... I haven't listened to it all yet, I'm just glad to have something on FM though, it's nice driving in the evening to have something other than the same sad old music playing...

I don't think Keyes has a syndicated program any more, I thought he had to give it up when he ran for President. He's pretty much just a guest on different shows now.
